C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) defines technical standards for attaching cryptographic provenance to media content. Attesto supports C2PA-compatible workflows for media origin proof, AI generation disclosure, and edit history — helping organisations prove what content was created, by whom, and when.
Signed content manifests
Attach C2PA-compatible cryptographic manifests to media files at creation or ingest — establishing an origin proof that travels with the content.
AI generation disclosure
Record whether content was created or modified by an AI model — supporting transparency requirements and platform disclosure obligations.
Edit history chain
Capture each edit event as a signed entry in the content manifest, building a verifiable chain from original to published version.
Origin attestation
Prove where content originated — device, system, organisation, or operator — with cryptographic signatures that cannot be stripped without detection.
Publication and distribution proof
Record when content was published, on which platform, and through which distribution channel — creating a verifiable content lifecycle record.
Tamper detection
Any modification to content or its manifest after signing produces a detectable mismatch. Tampering is mathematically visible.
Attesto supports C2PA-compatible provenance workflows. C2PA adoption and verification depend on ecosystem support and are not guaranteed by Attesto alone.
